The Level 1 Award in Nutrition has been designed to provide a good, basic understanding of nutrition. It will be useful as induction training in catering environments, for employees who are involved in the selection of menus, recipes and ingredients. It will be equally relevant for the hospitality, leisure, education, health and community care sectors. This qualification will provide an understanding of the relationship between diet, health and disease, and the principles and importance of a well-balanced diet.
On successful completion of the qualification, the learner will understand:
- The requirement to provide food information for consumers
- The importance of practical allergen management
- How to provide complete and correct allergen information to consumers.
