The Level 2 Award in Hygiene in Health & Social Care will benefit those working directly with patients/clients in a health & social care environment. It will help care workers recognise the causes of infection and help them to assess the risks that their actions have on the health of their patients/clients whether that is in residential care or in their own homes, in the private or public care sectors.
On successful completion of the qualification, the learner will:
- Understand the terminology used in good hygiene practice
- Understand the concepts of hygiene hazards and how the risks can be controlled
- Understand the importance of good personal hygiene
- Recognise the need for high standards of hygiene and the importance of cleaning.
Successful candidates will gain exemption from attending part of the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in Health & Social Care.
